Google Optimization
Google is one of the top search directories on the Web, and if your site is ranked high in Google, you'll get more page views. But Google doesn't work like all the other search engines, so you should be aware of these tips for optimizing your site for Google.
-
Optimisation of titles.
-
Ensuring the most important key terms are closer to the
left-hand side of the title as possible. Most titles are
100 characters in length.
-
Optimisation of descriptions.
-
The description should include the keywords in the
title. Where possible, we should include specific
product items and locations.
-
Optimisation of keywords.
-
The keywords should include the keywords from the
description, ensuring that a keyword is not used more
than 5 times, in any combination to avoid spamming. The
keyword list may extend to approximately 1000 characters
but this is not always necessary. All keywords need to
feature in the body text of the relevant web page.
-
Optimisation of body text.
-
All important keywords should be apparent within the
body text content and preferably as close to the top as
possible. Body text titles should be bold including the
product and location. Best to avoid listing keywords in
an endless list, and to ensure there is sufficient copy
so that keywords do not comprise the majority of the
body text.
